The west coast has some lovely scenery and beaches to explore.

To the west along the A830, known as “The Road to the Isles” there are some beautiful lochs and beaches to explore.

It is approximately 40 miles or 64 kilometers to Mallaig and typically takes one hour to drive.  On the route are fresh water and sea lochs with some lovely scenery all the way along.  At Arisaig you can take the B8008 coastal route which takes you right to the beaches.  This road re-joins the A830 a few miles before Mallaig.  It makes a great day out or a fine journey if you are heading to Skye by the ferry.
